  • No. 2 Mizzou looks to rebound from upset (AP)

Frank Haith said it best the day Missouri rose to No. 2. No one big victory would define the team, nor would one tough loss. The coach could not have anticipated those words to be tested so soon with one of the school's most impressive victories in recent seasons followed by an excruciating setback.

Laurent Rivard scored 18 points and Harvard routed Yale 65-35 on Friday night for its fifth straight win. Wisconsin coach Bo Ryan applauds during the second half of Wisconsin's 57-50 win over Indiana in an NCAA college basketball game Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, in Madison, Wis.

Wisconsin had already bounced back from its rough start in the Big Ten. Now Jordan Taylor and the 25th-ranked Badgers know they can win even on a bad shooting night. Despite going 4 for 17 from 3-point range, Wisconsin fell back on its defense to beat No. 16 Indiana 57-50 on Thursday. Ben Brust scored 13 points and Ryan Evans added 12 for the Badgers (17-5, 6-3), who have won their past five games --...

North Carolina had a new lineup and North Carolina State had a different look as a confident team that started the week tied for the Atlantic Coast Conference lead. Tyler Zeller had 21 points and a career-best 17 rebounds to help the seventh-ranked Tar Heels beat the Wolfpack 74-55 on Thursday...

Florida's Kenny Boynton had read his scouting report on Mississippi. The synopsis: The Rebels play defense, but can't shoot. That proved true -- eventually. The 14th-ranked Gators clawed back from a double-digit first-half deficit to beat Mississippi 64-60 on Thursday night. Patric Young scored 15 points and Boynton added 12 as Florida won for the sixth time in seven games.

By the time Sammy Zeglinski made his first 3-pointer in two games, giving No. 19 Virginia a 57-46 lead over Boston College on Thursday night, the Cavaliers seemed to have the game against the Eagles in hand. Still, it was the return of Zeglinski and the long ball that drew the biggest roars from the crowd during the game, and perhaps brought out the biggest smiles from the players after the 66-49...

    Bernie Fine

Attorneys for Syracuse University and men's basketball coach Jim Boeheim (BAY'-hym) want a defamation suit moved to Onondaga County. Lawyers filed a motion last week to move the suit related to the Bernie Fine sex abuse allegations from New York City to Onondaga County. They argue that Bobby Davis and Mike Lang improperly filed their lawsuit because all the parties are in Onondaga County.
